Mrs H is from the central area of Vietnam. This area was once the centre of Buddhism, with the king of Vietnam and the citadel located in Hue city. Even today, Hue is still a staunch Buddhist stronghold. Mrs H - in her 70's - is a widow, but her husband used to study Protestant and Catholic material. He even made copious notes on all that he studied. However, it was purely academic as he never believed or was converted.



Mrs H herself is a strong Buddhist with many moral values. She is a kind and good lady, full of praises for those who do good and look after their families. When she was young, she and her friends used to attend churches at Christmas time to join in with the celebration. She is so secure in her Buddhism that it gave her freedom to explore other religions without it affecting her. To her, all religions are good as they teach good things. The spiritual barriers around this lady and her family are totally impenetrable.
